Monsoon rains hit Sindh; Heavy showers expected in Karachi until Thursday

Karachi: Monsoon rains have started across various parts of Sindh, including Umerkot, Tharparkar, and Tando Muhammad Khan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall in several cities including Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, and Hyderabad until September 11.

In Karachi, heavy rain is expected from this evening through Thursday, with intermittent downpours likely. The PMD has also warned of possible urban flooding due to the intense rainfall.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert for heavy rain in parts of South Punjab over the next two days.

According to the NDMA, cities including Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sadiqabad are likely to experience heavy rains.
