LHC allows markets to remain open till midnight until Eid

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) allowed the market to open till 12 midnight and till 1 am on Saturdays and Sunday during Ramadan.

Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the petitions filed for the remedy of smog, in which the court took notice of the incident of misbehavior of a restaurant owner with the judicial commission staff and at the same time the court asked the restaurants for a parking plan.

Justice Shahid Karim said that on the next hearing, “I will summon this restaurant owner to the court, we are working for improvement and everyone should cooperate in this”.

The member judicial commission told the court that trucks of dead chickens arrive in Tollinton market in the morning, dead chicken meat is used in shawarma for Rs 30, health department and food authority have started raids while water from tanneries is spreading in Kasur and no measures are being taken.

On this occasion, Lawyer of Tanneries Association said association is working with  Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner in this regard.
