KARACHI: Sindh Government on Friday imposed ban on heavy traffic to enter in Karachi from 6am to 10pm.

According to a notification issued by Commissioner Karachi, section 144 has been implemented to ensure the protection of the citizens and maintain traffic flow, which will ban heavy traffic from 6am to 10pm.

Heavy traffic will be allowed to enter the city from 10pm to 6am, the statement said.

A statement issued by Commissioner Karachi said that the ban would not be applied to medicines, water, edible oil vehicles.

Traffic accidents have surged across Karachi in 2025, claiming 108 lives out of which 72 were reported in urban and 24 in the suburbs area of city as dumper truck-related crashes also increase.

However, after the accidents, several incidents of burning of vehicles have also been reported.

KARACHI: Sindh Government has removed Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Sukkur Syed Pir Muhammad Shah and Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Ghotki Hafeez Rehman Bugti from their posts after controversy between two officers.

A notification has been issued to remove both the officers from the posts, according to which the charge of DIG Sukkur has been handed over to DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab.

According to the notification, the additional charge of SSP Ghotki has been handed over to SSP Khairpur Samiullah.

It should be noted that Pir Muhammad Shah had accused Abdul Hafeez Bugti of being in touch with  bandits, in response to which Hafeez Rehman Bugti had also accused Pir Muhammad Shah.

A committee headed by Additional IG Imran Yaqoob has been set up to investigate the allegations.

DIG Amir Farooqi and DIG Tanveer Alam Odho are included in the committee while the investigation committee will submit its report in 7 days.

KARACHI: Sindh Government has imposed Section 144 in Karachi for 2 days and a notification has also been issued.

Section 144 has been imposed in Karachi for two days,  ban restricts all protests, processions, and public events during this time. Ban will be imposed till 18 and 19 October.

It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) had announced a nationwide protest today.

It should be remembered that Section 144 was imposed in Karachi from 13 to 17 October, a ban notification was issued by the Commissioner Karachi.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has requested the implementation of Section 144 in the city in view of the law and order situation.

He had said in a letter to the Commissioner Karachi that protests and rallies are being held on the same day by different factions.

In the letter written to the commissioner, it was further said that protests and rallies may disturb the law and order situation and cause inconvenience to the common people.
