Election Tribunal rejects SM Qureshi’s papers from Multan

MULTAN: The Election Tribunal rejected the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI)  Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood.

Multan Appellate Tribunal judge Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar delivered the verdict in which he rejected the appeal filed against the rejection of the nomination papers of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi by the Returning Officer(RO).

Appeals filed by Shah Mahmood Qureshi for rejection of nomination papers in NA 150, 151 and PP 218, PP 219 were rejected by the Tribunal.

However, the Appellate Tribunal accepted the appeals of Shah Mahmood’s daughter Mehra Bano Qureshi and son Zain Qureshi.

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau(NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa summoned former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser along with former provincial ministers Shahram Khan Tarakai and Atif Khan.

According to the statement issued by NAB, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has summoned former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser and two former ministers of PTI  Shahram Khan Tarakai and Atif Khan on January 10.

It is stated in the statement that complaints of irregularities in the construction of Mardan Swabi Road were received against the former ministers of PTI and the former speaker of the National Assembly.

Similarly, there are complaints against Atif Khan of widespread corruption and misuse of powers in sports and tourism projects, taking notice of which Chairman NAB has directed a regular investigation into the relevant complaints.

Court approves Asad Qaiser’s bail application

MARDAN: The local court accepted the bail application of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leader and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

PTI leader Asad Qaiser’s bail application was heard in the court of the Judicial Magistrate of Mardan, in which the court granted the bail of the former speaker of the National Assembly against a surety bond of Rs 90,000.

It should be noted that on December 2, the court of Mardan accepted the bail application of PTI leader Asad Qaiser and issued an order for his release, but he was arrested by the police once again. Asad Qaiser is currently imprisoned in Central Jail Mardan.
