Steve Jobs’ daughter makes fun of iPhone 14

  • Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ daughter, Eve Jobs, was one of the first to post a meme ridiculing the new model.
  • The iPhone 14 and iPhone Plus is available for pre-order from September 9.

On account of its resemblance to the iPhone 13, Apple’s new iPhone 14 series which was unveiled on Wednesday, immediately set off an online meme frenzy.

One of the first to join the bandwagon and publish a meme ridiculing the new iPhone model was former Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ daughter.

Eve Jobs posted a meme on Instagram depicting a man revealing his new shirt, which is identical to the one he is currently wearing.

She captioned the photo, “Me upgrading from iPhone 13 to iPhone 14 after Apple’s announcement today.”

As soon as the image was posted, it quickly gained popularity online and was shared by many users.

Internet users have been creating memes about the recently released model, claiming that it looks exactly like the prior one.

The new model has a crash-detection feature, an adventure-focused Ultra Watch, and the ability to transmit a request for help through a satellite in an emergency.

Both the iPhone 14 and iPhone Plus are available for pre-order from September 9 for a starting price of $799 and $899, respectively.

iPhone 14 series costs upto half a million in Pakistan; Pre-orders begin

iPhone 14 series costs upto half a million in Pakistan
  • The iPhone 14 series, which includes the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max, went global this week.
  • Pre-orders for these phones are now being accepted in Pakistan.
  • The starting price of a 128GB iPhone 14 with 128GB of storage is astronomical at Rs. 419,999.

This week, the iPhone 14 series, which includes the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max, went global.

The iPhone 14 Plus, which is basically a bigger variant with the largest battery on an iPhone yet, has replaced the iPhone Mini in Apple’s lineup.

Pre-orders for these phones are now being accepted in Pakistan as well, and the prices are as outrageous as to be expected.

The cost of the entry-level iPhone 14 with 128GB of storage is astronomical at Rs. 419,999.

This costs even more than the initial price of Rs. 370,000 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The spike in import duties, which also affected laptops, graphics cards, and other electronics in addition to cellphones, is to blame for the price increase.

As a result, the starting price for the iPhone 14 Plus is Rs. 459,999, the starting price for the iPhone 14 Pro is Rs. 489,999, and the price for the Pro Max model is Rs. 529,999.

The 1TB iPhone 14 Pro Max, which retails for a stunning Rs. 689,999, is currently the priciest smartphone offered in Pakistan.

For that amount, you could purchase a used entry-level automobile or a number of brand-new motorcycles!

These phones won’t be delivered to you until at least October because, as was already indicated, they are only available for pre-order at this time.

A Better Offer

Purchasing an iPhone from the prior generation is currently a much better option if you’re still shopping, especially because the 14 series does not have any significant advancements.

The 128 GB iPhone 14 costs Rs. 420,000, but a 256 GB iPhone 13 Pro Max is available for Rs. 389,999.

In this approach, you receive twice as much storage in addition to the Pro Max’s benefits, such as a larger screen (with ProMotion), a better battery, and powerful cameras.

Purchase a 128GB iPhone 13 for “just” Rs. 299,999 if you want to save even more money.

A base-model iPhone 11 is available for Rs. 184,999 if you don’t mind sticking with even older generations.

Apple iPhone 14 series to feature 6GB RAM

Apple iPhone 14 series to feature 6GB RAM
  • Apple’s iPhone 14 series is said to have more RAM than the entire iPhone 13 lineup
  • Compared to the iPhone 13, this represents an overall memory improvement of 50%.
  • The company essentially added more memory modules for both the new iPhone 14 Plus model and the iPhone 14.

Recently, the Apple iPhone 14 series was unveiled for the international market. The highly anticipated 2022 iPhone series debuted with a number of upgrades from the previous model.

According to a recent source, one of these improvements also included memory. Let’s have a look, then.

The current iPhone 14 series, which includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, is said to have more RAM than the entire iPhone 13 lineup, according to a MacRumors report.

The current Xcode 14 beta, according to the claim, has files that show that all of the new iPhones have 6GB of RAM.

Compared to the iPhone 13, this represents an overall memory improvement of 50%.

For those who are unaware, the base model and the tiny model only had 4GB of RAM. Only the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have 6GB of RAM.

In other words, the company essentially added more memory modules for both the new iPhone 14 Plus model and the iPhone 14.

Notably, the company’s IDE for creating programs for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS is Xcode 14.

Therefore, the report’s main finding is that, for non-Pro versions, the new iPhones have, on average, 2GB more RAM than the previous generation.

Although the RAM size was made public in Xcode, it is still unclear what the memory module standards are. In other words, it’s not apparent if these have the newest LPDDR5 memory or a previous version.

Apple fans to pay more for iPhone 14 in Asia

Apple fans to pay more for iPhone 14
  • Apple maintains iPhone prices in the US while increasing them in some Asian countries where the dollar has fallen in value.
  • Japanese customers will pay 20% more for entry-level iPhone 14 than they did for iPhone 13.
  • Apple’s Greater China quarterly revenue decreased by 1% from April to June.

On Wednesday, Apple Inc. maintained its latest iPhone’s prices in the US while increasing them in some Asian nations where the dollar has fallen in value in recent months.

Customers in Japan, where the yen has fallen 24% since September, will pay 20% more for the entry-level iPhone 14 than they did for the iPhone 13, which cost 99,800 Yen ($692.81) when it was released a year ago.

In Japan, the price of the iPhone 13 is presently 107,800 yen. After the Yen declined earlier this year, Apple increased the model’s price by almost a fifth to 117,800 Yen.

According to Credit Suisse analysts, the strongest risk to Apple’s earnings is the strength of the dollar.

In the US and Europe, there is still a high level of demand for Apple products, but given recent price rises and the country’s limited subsidies, pressure is likely to be mounting in Japan.

Apple’s stock was trading marginally lower as the market as a whole fell.

However, despite a 7% decline in the value of the currency, Apple nonetheless priced the iPhone 14 at 5,999 Yuan ($862.42) in China, its second-largest market after the United States.

Apple should be prepared for a decline in demand in China, where the economy has been damaged by a string of COVID-19 lockdowns that have reduced consumer spending, according to analysts.

Following a string of profitable quarters in the region, Apple’s Greater China quarterly revenue decreased by 1% from April to June.

The iPhone 13 is now accessible for 5,399 Yuan in China, where the business had previously announced reductions on iPhones.

Samsung banters at Apple’s ‘Far Out’ event

Samsung at Apple ‘Far Out’ event
  • Samsung mocked Apple’s new iPhone 14 series on its official Twitter account.
  • The South Korean tech giant is the market leader in the foldable smartphone category.
  • Samsung also made fun of Apple’s boxy watch designs, calling them “a little boxy, but nice”.

Following the “Far Out” event, which marked the introduction of the new iPhone 14 series, rival tech giant Apple was mocked by Samsung on its social media channel.

Let us know when it folds, the official Twitter account of Samsung Mobile US wrote in a tweet mocking the firm for not launching a foldable phone.

Samsung is the market leader in the foldable smartphone category, despite Apple having yet to release one.

However, a number of cryptic tweets from Samsung Mobile US’s official account appeared to criticize Apple’s iPhone 14 series.

Samsung also made fun of Apple’s boxy watch designs, saying the firm favored circular watches since they are “classic.”

“Nice. A little boxy, but nice. We prefer a round shape ourselves. Classic” tweets were posted by the Samsung Mobile US account.

Despite not yet having a foldable phone on the market, various publications have reported that Apple is working on one.

Over the years, Samsung has established a custom of making fun of Apple during or after its flagship events.

The South Korean manufacturer poked fun at Apple in a previous unveiling after it eliminated the headphone jack from its phones.

Even after Apple chose to cease distributing chargers with phones, the ridiculing of the notch persisted.

Apple announces new ‘Crash Detection’ feature; details here

apple ‘crash detection’ feature
  • Apple has unveiled the Crash Detection function for iPhone 14 series and Watch Series 8.
  • The emergency services interface will show up on both devices after a serious automobile crash.
  • Apple claims its algorithm has been trained on more than 1 million hours of actual driving and crash data from crash test facilities.

Apple presented its highly anticipated flagship iPhone 14 series at yesterday night’s “Far Out” event. The Cupertino-based business also announced the Watch Series 8.

For the recently revealed devices, the company also unveiled a brand-new function called Crash Detection.

Apple claims that while it expects consumers won’t require the feature, it should provide them with a sense of security while driving.

Notably, Google has long provided auto accident detection on its Pixel smartphones.

In the event of a car crash, the Crash Detection feature, a new Emergency function, may save the users’ lives.

It might be unpredictable and risky to drive on the road.

An automobile crash can be detected by Apple’s newest Watch Series 8 and the iPhone 14 series, and after 10 seconds, the feature will automatically alert the user’s emergency contact and provide them with the user’s location.

It’s important to note that the feature only operates when the user is behind the wheel.

Both the Watch Series 8 and the iPhone 14 series come with two new motion sensors – an upgraded 3-axis gyroscope and a high-G-force accelerometer – in case you’re wondering how the Crash Detection feature functions.

The latter has a sampling rate that is nearly 3,000 times quicker and can measure up to 256 G’s.

Apple has also developed a sophisticated sensor algorithm to activate the function precisely.

The Crash Detection on a linked iPhone uses the motion sensor in addition to the barometer, GPS, and microphone to determine whether a serious crash has occurred.

All of the information makes it possible to pinpoint the exact moment of impact.

The emergency services interface will show up on both the Apple Watch Series 8 and the iPhone 14 series after a serious crash.

According to Apple, the emergency feature can identify collisions involving automobiles, SUVs, and pickup trucks.

It also focuses on four different forms of collisions: rollovers, rear-end collisions, side impacts, and front impacts.

Only when driving and just before a potential mishap does the feature run and process data.

Additionally, the data is stored on the device and is not collected by Apple.

Apple stated in the announcement that its algorithm has been trained on more than 1 million hours of actual driving and crash data and that it has researched vehicle crashes at cutting-edge crash test facilities for years.

Apple launches iPhone 14 with emergency satellite connectivity

Apple launches iPhone 14
  • Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 starts at $799.
  • Users will occasionally be able to communicate their location via satellite via its FindMy app.
  • Apple also unveiled three new Apple Watch models, including a new Watch Ultra design for extreme sports and diving.

Apple unveiled a variety of new iPhone 14 models that include crash-detection technology, an adventure-focused Ultra Watch, and the ability to send a request for help through satellite in an emergency.

The iPhone 14 models will put Apple’s capacity to extract money from its comparatively wealthy client base to the test; although they have continued to spend despite growing inflation, they are not immune to a deteriorating economy.

Beginning September 9, pre-orders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone Plus will be accepted. The price for the iPhone 14 starts at $799 and $899, respectively.

Apple claimed to have developed a mechanism that will cooperate with first responders in case of emergencies in outlying locations.

It added that users will occasionally be able to communicate their location via satellite via its FindMy app when there is no other connectivity.

Apple’s emergency SOS service will be operated by satellite by Globalstar, according to a filing.

On Wednesday, Globalstar’s shares decreased by roughly 16% before it was suspended in anticipation of the disclosure of the Apple transaction. The stock has increased by nearly 50% so far this year.

Similar functions are being developed by other businesses. Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, revealed last month that the company is collaborating with T-Mobile (TMUS.O) to utilize its Starlink satellites to directly connect phones to the internet.

In contrast to Apple’s iPhone Pro models, the iPhone 14 Plus model will sport a larger screen and an A15 CPU chip.

The corporation, which has its headquarters in Cupertino, California, also unveiled three new Apple Watch models, including a new Watch Ultra design for extreme sports and diving.

The Ultra has a larger battery to last longer during activities like triathlons, better waterproofing, temperature resistance, and better GPS tracking for sports.

The updated SE economy model is one of the new Watches, while the Series 8 Watch, which has crash detection and a low-power mode for 36 hours of battery life, is another.

The SE with cellular will start at $299, while the Series 8 with cellular will start at $499. The Ultra will go on sale on September 23 for $799 and comes with cellular service as standard.

According to Apple, the new Series 8 watch contains a temperature sensor that may be used in conjunction with the cycle tracking app that was previously launched to detect ovulation in the past.

The company emphasized its cycle tracking’s privacy-friendly methodology. Following a U.S. court ruling, internet corporations have started to focus on privacy and reproductive health data.

In the United States, a constitutional right to abortion was eliminated by a Supreme Court judgment.

Apple claimed it lacked the key needed to unlock health information like cycle monitoring.

Although accessories like the Apple Watch have increased sales from Apple’s current customer base, the iPhone continues to be the company’s main revenue generator, accounting for 52.4% of all sales in its most recent fiscal year.

More than an hour into the presentation, Apple’s stock was up 0.6%, in line with the start of the event, but below the session gain of 1.5% for the S&P 500.

According to some observers, Apple could unveil a mixed reality headset on Wednesday.

The gadget is anticipated to contain cameras that provide the wearer a view of the outside world while superimposing digital elements on the real world.

Analysts predict that the device won’t go on sale until at least the following year.

An early preview would be unusual for Apple, which usually waits to reveal its product plans until right before its products are released.

Project Cambria, a competing headset being developed by Meta Platforms, will cost billions of dollars to complete.

But Apple could need to give developers time to get accustomed to it in order to offer appealing apps for a new headset.

“Developing for a new and radically different type of platform is going to take folks a lot longer,” O’Donnell said.

  • There isn’t much information on the Pixel 7’s specifications save the second-generation Tensor chipset.

The Pixel Watch, Buds Pro, and Google’s upcoming flagship phone series have all received official launch dates from the company.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were first previewed in May at Google I/O, but the official launch date has now been announced.

On October 6 at 7 PM PKT, Google will reveal its future smartphones. The dominant search engine has also revealed the name of the upcoming SoC that will power Pixel 7 handsets.

According to most sources, it was going to be called the Tensor 2, but it will now be called the Tensor G2. The G might stand for “Google,” a condensed version of “gen 2,” or even both.

The Google Pixel 7’s design is also known to us thanks to the company’s recent teasers.

The camera visor style of previous Pixel phones is still present, but this time there are individual cutouts for each lens.

Although the display bezels are a little bit smaller than before, the rest of the phone is largely unchanged.

Google has also disclosed the color possibilities for the Pixel 7 smartphones.

The Pixel 7 will come in the colors Obsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow, while the Pixel 7 Pro will sport a Hazel shade rather than Lemongrass.

There isn’t much information available regarding the Pixel 7’s specifications save the second-generation Tensor chipset.

The Pixel 7 Pro will reportedly come with an additional 48MP telephoto lens on top of the standard Pixel 7’s 50MP main camera and 12MP ultrawide lens.

The Pixel 7 is anticipated to have the same size as the Pixel 6 at 6.3 inches (down from 6.4 inches), but the Pixel 7 Pro will be slightly smaller.

The resolution and adaptive refresh rate are anticipated to remain the same, even if the phones utilize a new display panel.

Apple to produce iPhone 14 in India

Apple to produce iPhone 14 in India
  • Apple is looking to increase production in India for the iPhone 14.
  • The first iPhones would be produced in India in late October or early November.
  • Apple will also begin manufacturing the Apple Watch and numerous MacBook Pros in Vietnam this year.

As China battles with lockdowns throughout numerous cities and has disagreements with Washington, Apple is exploring alternatives for the manufacture of the iPhone 14. According to a recent article on an international tech website, the Cupertino behemoth is now focused on India.

According to the source, Apple has been attempting to increase production in India in order to reduce the manufacturing delay for new iPhones from the customary six to nine months for past launches.

According to the article, one of Apple’s major suppliers, Foxconn, has already researched how to transfer components from China to India for the iPhone 14’s assembly.

According to reports, these phones would be made somewhere other than Chennai, in southern India.

It’s anticipated that the first few iPhones would be produced in India in late October or early November of this year.

Given that the iPhone 14 series is anticipated to be on sale as early as September, this could indicate a delay in both shipment and sales.

For a while now, Apple has been attempting to move some of its iPhone manufacturers outside of China. As the second-largest smartphone market in the world and a location where part of its iPads will be made, India was chosen as the location for this.

Samsung and Apple have historically chosen markets like Vietnam for their smartphones, but as contract manufacturers supplying American brands try to diversify their manufacturing away from China, India, and Mexico are also starting to become more significant.

Another publication also revealed a week ago that for the first time, Apple will assemble the Apple Watch and numerous MacBooks in Vietnam.

The 14- and 16-inch M2 MacBook Pros from Apple will go into commercial production in Q4 of 2022, claims renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
