Even after reaching a “deal in principle” with his accuser Virginia Giuffre in the civil sex assault case, Prince Andrew has resigned from the exclusive Naval and Military Club.
According to the Mail on Sunday, the Duke of York, who had been a member of the institution in St James’s, Central London, during his tenure in the Royal Navy, has stood down willingly as part of his intention to cut links with the organisations.
It comes as the troubled prince continues to withdraw from public life after Virginia Giuffre filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him, which he denied.

Since handing back all of his patronages to the Queen in January, the 62-year-membership old’s in the In & Out club has quietly dissolved.
According to some royal analysts, the relocation will be especially painful because his late father was the club’s president.
It is believed he resigned voluntarily as part of his resolve to break links with organisations following his £12 million settlement with Ms Giuffre, formerly known as Roberts.
Prince Andrew’s name remained on the In & Out’s membership list for several months after he stepped down as a member of the Royal Family, but in recent days his name has vanished, according to a source.
