In a significant development, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has given the green light for the construction of a major heart hospital in Lahore.
This new medical facility, known as the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, will be constructed in place of the Emergency Vitrama Center project at Jinnah Hospital.
During his visit to the project site, CM Mohsin Naqvi conducted a thorough inspection of the construction progress. He has set a target for the foundation of the building to be completed by the middle of the next month.
The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will be a 7-story building with a capacity of 250 beds, making it the largest heart hospital in Lahore after the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
Secretary of Construction and Communications provided a briefing on the ongoing construction work during the visit. The event was attended by Provincial Ministers Dr. Javed Akram and Aamir Mir, as well as officials from the Health, Construction, and Communications departments, including the Special Secretary of Health, Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College, and the Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital.
This new heart hospital is a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Lahore, providing specialized care for cardiac patients, and enhancing the city’s medical infrastructure.
