The company released a statement on Sunday announcing his passing.
The precise cause of Warnock’s death has not been revealed. Shantanu Narayen, the CEO of Adobe, conveyed the sentiments of both the Adobe community and the wider industry in an email to the company’s employees, stating, “It is a sad day for the Adobe
community and the industry for which he has been an inspiration for decades.”
In 1982, John Warnock co-founded Adobe alongside Charles Geschke. His significant contributions spanned decades, profoundly influencing the course of digital innovation.
He was CEO until retiring in 2000 and remained a crucial figure as board chairman alongside Geschke until 2017.
The tech industry grieves the passing of a significant trailblazer whose impact is deeply intertwined with Adobe’s growth and the progress of digital creativity.
