ISLAMABAD: After the massive earthquake that jolted many areas of the country, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has directed all the relevant departments to gear up for the relief activities.
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan last night and jolted many buildings in different cities however, no major loss has been reported.
The COAS has instructed the official to remain alert in case of any notification of life loss or any other damage in any area.
“It is necessary to ensure the support of the civil administration and to initiate immediate rescue operations so that precious lives can be saved from loss by taking timely action,” he added.
Be it natural calamities or security challenges, Pakistan Army has been dedicated to public service.
Earlier, during the flood that hit the country last year, the Pakistan army played its role in relief and rehabilitation activities across the country.
