In 2018, Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan made their Bollywood film debuts. Sara Ali Khan co-starred with Sushant Singh Rajput in Kedarnath, while Janhvi Kapoor had the lead role opposite Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak.
Both actresses have carved out a place for themselves in the film industry and have recently worked on some incredible projects. Janhvi Kapoor stated in a previous interview that despite having several opportunities, she has not yet earned respect. When Sara Ali Khan was questioned about Janhvi’s statement, she responded differently.
Sara Ali Khan was questioned about Janhvi’s claim that she hasn’t yet received respect in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Sara disagreed with Janhvi and asserted that she’s never had a problem with respect. Sara claimed that she feels really respected and that she hasn’t been treated unfairly at all. Sara stated,“I think for me, if you accept me for who I am, that’s the biggest sign of respect and I think, touchwood, I got that very early in my career,”

Sara Ali Khan, however, clarified that Janhvi Kapoor might have meant that one still needs to establish themselves as an actor. ““But even then, whether it’s Kedarnath or Atrangi, I read the reviews I was given. I don’t think respect has been a problem for me,” she claimed.
Janhvi Kapoor stated that she believes she has more to offer and that she wants to demonstrate to herself that she can accept new challenges and overcome them while chatting to Barkha Dutt at the We The Women event. The phrase Somewhere it comes down to the line that ‘Mujhe mauke bohot mile hai, par izzat abhi tak nahi mila’ and I think that’s what I am working for, in my own eyes. It takes a lot to build perception and then break it,” said Janhvi.
