The wedding reception of Swara Bhasker and Samajwadi Party leader Fahad Ahmad was recently attended by actress Jaya Bachchan. Jaya and TMC leader Derek O’Brien may be seen heading down the stairs in a video that just went viral online. She also spoke with Shashi Tharoor, the head of the Congress.
Shashi Tharoor waved back and they clasped hands as well. They had a quick talk together as well. Jaya dressed appropriately for the event in a white suit, yellow salwar, and matching dupatta. The actor sported a mask and heels as well.
In another part of the video, Swara Bhasker’s mother Ira Bhaskar was with Jaya. She was observed laughing as she went alongside Derek and Ira. Jaya stated: “The word is (Okay). Thank you very much.”

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, attended Swara and Fahad’s wedding celebration in Delhi. Rahul posed for the paparazzi while standing next to Swara, Fahad, and their family members in a video that was posted online. He was spotted conversing with Ira as well. Swara chose a pink and gold lehenga for the event, while Fahad wore a cream sherwani and white pajamas.
On Friday, Swara posted several pictures from her reception to Instagram, some of which also included Fahad. The couple grinned for the camera and displayed various expressions in the photos. In one of the pictures, Swara was given a kiss by Fahad as she grinned. Swara captioned the images, “Presenting Mr. and Mrs. #SwaadAnusaar.”
Swara announced her engagement on Twitter on February 17 and included images of herself and Fahad signing the documents to officially register their marriage. She had penned, “We applaud the #SpecialMarriageAct (despite notice period etc.) It exists at least, and it gives love a chance. @FahadZirarAhmad The right to love, the freedom to select your life partner, the right to marry, and the right to agency shouldn’t be privileges.”
The last time we saw Swara was in the buddy comedy Jahaan Chaar Yaar (2022). Meher Vij, Pooja Chopra, and Shikha Talsania were also featured in the movie. Swara’s upcoming movie appearance is Mrs. Falani.
Together with Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt, and Ranveer Singh, Jaya will appear in the upcoming love drama Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The movie, directed by Karan Johar, will be released in theaters in July.
