- Few actors were not mentioned in the In Memoriam section at the 2023 Oscars.
- Charlbi Dean and Anne Heche were one of them.
- The ep of the event did not respond on the matter.
A few well-known people’s names were omitted from the 2023 Oscars In Memoriam section.
The portion during the live event on Sunday night did not include Charlbi Dean, who played the lead in Triangle of Sorrow, a movie nominated for three Academy Awards this year, including Best Picture. Dean, 32, passed away in August 2022 from bacterial sepsis.
Along with Paul Sorvino, who passed away in July 2022 at the age of 83, Anne Heche, who passed away in August 2022 at the age of 53, was also forgotten. The Academy’s web gallery listed all three of their names.
A representative for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declined to make an official statement regarding why their names weren’t mentioned during the live show.
