Live ammunition was discovered on a Little Oakley beach, therefore a controlled explosion was conducted in Essex.
The suspected bomb was reported at Little Oakley, Essex, on Friday, according to Walton Coastguard, who said it was summoned to the scene.
Following an examination, the object was transferred to Humber Coastguard, who verified its status as live ordnance after receiving information and photos about it.
The area was cordoned off, an army bomb disposal squad arrived, and a controlled explosion was carried out.
