Prince George may draw attention at King Charles III’s upcoming coronation on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Dr Tessa Dunlop, who appeared in the latest episode of the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential series alongside Diary Editor Richard Eden, predicted the royals’ roles at the coronation.
According to Dr. Dunlop, all working members of the royal family are expected to attend the ceremony, with a focus on the young prince, followed by his grandfather and father.
“[They] want to keep it focused on that line of succession,” explained the expert. “There will be a lot of camera shots of Charles, William, and George.”
The expert also compared Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in June 1953, when her heir was given centre stage.
King Charles, who was five at the time, was seated between the Queen Mother and his aunt Princess Margaret to maximise his visibility.
According to the outlet, Charles wants his Coronation to set the tone for a more streamlined and modern monarchy, while still retaining some of the pomp and majesty that wowed the world during the Queen’s lying-in-state and funeral ceremonies.
Dr. Dunlop’s comments about Prince George’s role in the coronation come after weeks of speculation about whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend.
