In north Belfast, a stolen automobile pulled a police officer down the ground, injuring him on Antrim road.
At around 21:30 GMT on Thursday, it took place at a gas station on the Antrim Road.
The policeman needed hospital treatment for damage to his hands and knees.
It was “absolutely inappropriate… and he was harmed just for performing his job,” Insp. Adams said in a request for information.
A blue Saab was reported stolen on Thursday in the Cullybackey, County Antrim, neighborhood of Tober Park, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
Officers later found the automobile in the forecourt of a gas station after responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle in Brookhill Avenue in north Belfast.
When police tried to stop the automobile, the driver sped up the reverse and pulled the officer over the ground before speeding off and crashing into another car that had been previously mentioned as having erratic driving.
“This is a prime example of dangerous and reckless driving and it could have had the most serious of consequences for our officer and the public,” said Insp Adams.
Two males have been detained by police.
