On 3,883 screens in 41 foreign locations, the second sequel to Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike brought in a total of $4.6 million. The movie’s box office results reveal a strong -37% decline and a fantastic hold over Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s debut.

This past weekend, the sequel did incredibly well internationally, holding strong in a wide range of nations, including Switzerland (-24%), Belgium (-25%), Germany (-27%), Holland & Finland (-30%), Denmark (-32%), Italy (-38%), Australia (-39%), and the UK (-40%). Magic Mike’s Last Dance now has a worldwide total of $37.7 million after this past weekend, including an overseas gross of $19.6 million.

What is the story behind Magic Mike’s Final Dance?

 Channing Tatum plays the title character in Magic Mike’s Final Dance, which follows the former male stripper as he struggles to make ends meet after the COVID-19 outbreak causes him to lose almost everything. He meets Salma Hayek Pinault’s portrayal of a wealthy socialite named Maxandra Mendoza at his bartending job. The two start dating and collaborating professionally, which might help Mike realise his wildest aspirations. Vicki Pepperdine, Alan Cox, Ayub Khan Din, and Caitlin Gerard make up the rest of the cast.

After skipping the first sequel, Magic Mike XXL, Soderbergh took the helm for Magic Mike’s Final Dance. The screenplay for Magic Mike’s Final Dance was written by Reid Carolin, who also wrote the first two Magic Mike movies. Together with Channing Tatum, Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs, and Peter Kiernan, Carolin is also an executive producer.
