The Philadelphia Eagles took on the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, and Rihanna headlined the halftime show. She sang a medley of her best hits, including “Bitch Better Have My Money,” “Diamonds,” and “Work.”
The 34-year-old artist announced she is expecting her second child with partner A$AP Rocky by beginning her performance with a belly rub à la Beyoncé (and a noticeable bump).
Rihanna’s pregnancy was confirmed by a spokesperson.
The 34-year-old superstar wore a head-to-toe red layered outfit, embellished with Messika jewelry, a diamond-encrusted Jacob & Co. watch ($72,000), and MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low Sneakers ($360). She also wore a glossy bustier by Loewe.
The singer of “We Found Love” also flaunted two unique Alaa coats, beginning the performance with a red leather puffer scarf and finishing it with a floor-length red leather puffer coat with integrated gloves for added drama.
She accessorized her fiery stage look with a similar red lip ($29; Fenty Beauty Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in The MVP) and a sleek ponytail with face-framing tendrils. Mid-performance, she touched up her makeup with her brand’s Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder ($34).
In an interview with us prior to the Super Bowl, Rihanna’s makeup artist Priscilla Ono teased her “iconic” big-game beauty look, saying, “I want makeup look that you can look back at, at any point in life, and be like, ‘That look? I need that on me right now.”
Pop star Rihanna has turned her attention away from music in recent years to concentrate on her billion-dollar fashion and beauty brands, which include the lingerie line Savage X Fenty, the Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin lines, and the billion-dollar Savage X Fenty line. All of these brands recently released collections with a Game Day theme to coincide with Rihanna’s performance.
Rihanna’s first child with Rocky, was born in May 2022. She made numerous headlines while carrying the baby in a number of audacious looks, from a sheer Dior lingerie outfit to a bump-baring Coperni set.
It’s easy to say that this performance was worthwhile the wait even if the “Diamonds” singer hasn’t put out an album or toured since 2016 and notably declined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019 in support of Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement.
