At least 11,104 people have died as a result of the terrible earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, according to authorities.
At least 8,574 people have died in Turkey, and there have been reports of roughly 50,000 injuries, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who made the announcement during a visit to devastated areas close to the epicenter of Monday’s earthquake.
According to officials, at least 2,530 deaths have been confirmed in Syria throughout rebel- and government-held regions.
The number of fatalities is expected to rise higher, according to aid organizations and emergency personnel, as many people are still under the rubble and rescue efforts are hampered by the frigid weather.
