- Oleksiy Danilov, has hinted that his nation has the capacity to attack Russia.
- Ukraine is not allowed to attack Russian territory with Western weapons.
- But Kyrylo Budanov has foreseen strikes “deeper and deeper” within Russia.
Ukraine’s top national security official, Oleksiy Danilov, also alluded to his nation’s capacity to attack Russia on its own soil, outside of occupied Ukraine.
Regarding Russian territory, nobody prohibits us to destroy targets with weapons produced in Ukraine.
Do we have such weapons? Yes, we do,” Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said Monday.
Ukraine is not allowed to attack Russian territory with weaponry provided by Western countries.
Over the course of the conflict, there have frequently been inexplicable explosions at important locations in Russia, but Ukraine has never openly acknowledged being the cause of the attacks.
Head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Agency Major General Kyrylo Budanov foresaw strikes “deeper and deeper” within Russia, away from the frontlines, last month without mentioning the involvement of the Ukrainian military.
In January, Budanov told media that while he was “quite delighted to see” attacks inside of Russia, he would not be able to “give you [an] answer” until the war was over regarding the involvement of Ukraine in such attacks.
“Do you think there will be more?” the reporter asked Budanov. “I think so,” he replied.
“Inside Russia? Deep inside Russia?” the reporter asked. “Deeper and deeper,” he said.
