The Princess of Wales delighted royal fans when she shared an intimate family photograph of herself as a baby, happily smiling and reaching for her father’s face.

The caption “faces are a baby’s best toy,” along with the description “with Dad, by Mum,” accompanied the treasured image after she shared it as part of her new Shaping Us campaign.

Kate, 41, was born at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and is dressed as a baby in a summer dress in a photograph taken by her mother Carole of her with her father Michael Middleton.

Fans have been quick to point out the similarities between Kate and her youngest son, four-year-old Prince Louis, since she posted it.

On Instagram, one fan even commented that she and Louis looked like twins when they were the same age, while another thought the young Kate was actually Louis.

And it appears that the mother-son resemblance has been pointed out to Kate in the past – and has become an inside joke as her other children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, look more like their father, Prince William.

According to a friend of Kate’s, this has led her to joke that little Louis is the only one of the three children who looks like her.

“She loves it and thinks it’s very sweet — she often jokes that he’s the only one of her kids who actually looks like her!”

On Tuesday, Kate launched her Shaping Us campaign to raise awareness of the importance of our early years in shaping the rest of our lives.
