ISLAMABAD: A court in Islamabad has rejected the post-arrest bail plea submitted by Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid.

A district and sessions court in the capital pronounced the reserved verdict on the plea of the former interior minister.

The hearing took place today and the court reserved the decision after the arguments of both sides.

Pertinently, Rashid has been in jail on judicial remand after being arrested from his residence days back.

Previously, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday ordered to suspend the FIRs registered against the AML chief in Karachi and Balochistan.

As per details, the FIRs registered against the former interior minister booked in Karachi’s Mochko and Balochistan’s Lasbela were suspended by the IHC.

The orders were passed by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri while hearing Sheikh Rasheed’s plea against his arrest.
