Maggie Wheeler actor praised the 17 Again star for being “brave and remarkable” for “helping people” by sharing his drug addiction tale in Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. “I lost my brother to drug addiction, so I’m no stranger to how difficult a journey it is and a struggle it is,” Wheeler told Us Weekly.

She began by saying, “I am so proud of Matthew and how hard he is battling for his life,” before adding that the actor’s autobiography contained “so many facts” that she “was not aware” of. “He is such a survivor to still be here and to be out and telling his story to the public. In a different interview, the actor recalled working with Perry on the NBC sitcom and stated, “Whenever you get to work with a genius, it makes you better.” “Being able to play off of and enjoy him was a blessing. To remain composed while filming was the most task! Wheeler provided information to OK!
