- Jimin’s first solo album is currently being recorded.
- He has not announced the release date just yet.
- The announcement follows Jimin’s recent collaboration with Taeyang of Big Bang.
The South Korean music label said there isn’t a release date to announce just yet but did acknowledge the existence of the album in response to Sports Donga’s allegation that the 27-year-old BTS star plans to release the album in February.
“Details will be announced once the schedule is finalised,” Big Hit said in a statement provided to MyDaily.
The announcement follows Jimin’s recent collaboration with Taeyang of Big Bang, “Vibe,” by a few days.
Jimin worked with Ariana Grande’s producer in the studio the previous year.
The BTS member has been making subtle hints about his future solo album, including working in Los Angeles with BTS members Pdogg and GHSTLOOP as well as studio whiz TBHits, actual name Thomas Brown.
Thomas added pictures from the studio and wrote: “Excellent days spent with my brothers. Jimin is incredible.”
TBHits collaborated with Meghan Trainor as well as pop sensation Ariana on all six of her studio albums.
Taylor Hill, Summer Walker’s co-writer, and producer Mr. Franks were also there.
Jimin has already had a number of solo hits in his native South Korea, including 2016’s ‘Lie’, 2017’s ‘Serendipity’ and 2020’s ‘Filter’.
