The Princess of Wales had to momentarily take off her engagement ring when visiting Liverpool, according to the local media.
The new Royal Liverpool University Hospital was being opened as the royal couple was in town.
On Thursday, Kate and William went to the new hospital to meet the personnel from NHF.
The couple took photographs with the employees and thanked them for their dedication.
Kate had to temporarily part with two of her most prized items, her engagement ring and her eternity band.
“She was able to wear her gold wedding ring, but Kate walked around the Liverpool hospital without her 12-carat sapphire engagement ring and her Eclipse diamond eternity ring, made from 18-carat white gold,” the newspaper wrote.
