Jeremy Renner is celebrating his birthday while recuperating in a hospital, but he still feels the love. The “Hawkeye” actor, who spent less than a week in “serious” condition after a harrowing snowplough accident, celebrated his 52nd birthday on Saturday from an ICU unit.
Renner, however, shared a video on his Instagram Stories that was a dedication to him from the youth group The Base Chicago on his special day. The actor seems to have volunteered with them frequently.
The children can be seen dancing to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” while holding placards that spell out Renner’s first initial and surname name in the video.
“Sending a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🍰🎉🎁🎈🎈🎈🎈❤️ to @jeremyrenner. Have a great day 😊🙏🏽👍🏽 Sending our ❤️ #thebaseway💪🙌⚾️📚🙏🏽,” the post was captioned.
In response, Renner wrote, “I adore you all sooooo much!!!! Thanks a lot. You’ve lifted my spirits beyond belief!
The “Hurt Locker” actor also added, “Thank you For the Birthday Love!!!” in his repost.
On Friday, Renner also thanked the hospital workers who have been caring for him on social media.
The “American Hustle” star captioned a picture of himself in a hospital bed, surrounded by nurses and medical professionals, “Thank you Renowned Medical ICU team for beginning this adventure.”
After being “run over” by a 14,330-pound snowplough last Sunday while on vacation in Nevada, Renner has been recovering over the past few days.
Despite being initially described as being in “critical but stable condition,” the Oscar nominee later appeared to be making progress when he released a health update and a selfie from his hospital bed.
“Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏,” the “Arctic Dogs” star captioned an Instagram post-Tuesday. “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
The horrific specifics of Renner’s accident soon started to circulate online.
