Meghan Markle knelt next to Princess Diana’s tomb before marrying Prince Harry, the Prince has revealed.

On the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death, Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare, which went on sale early in Spain yesterday, about the first time she visited Diana’s final burial place on the Althorp estate.

Harry wrote that the two rowed out to the island where his mother is buried, where he took a chance to think alone before sensing Meghan’s desire for privacy.

“When I returned, she was on her knees with her eyes closed and her palms flat against the stone,” he wrote, continuing to recall that she’d told him she’d asked Diana for “clarity and guidance”.
