As a result of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle making it clear that the Prince and Princess of Wales were responsible for their decision to resign as senior members of the royal family, Prince William and Kate Middleton are receiving a taste of their own medicine.
Harry claims that Prince William used his position to spread misinformation about other royal family members.
Harry claimed in his Netflix documentary that William had assured him that the two brothers would not exploit their positions in the same way that their father’s position was used against the family.
He claimed that witnessing William acting in the same way was painful.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed that top royals declined to take any action against the publication when Meghan Markle’s letter to her father Thomas Markle was leaked to the media, despite the fact that the letter was issued with their agreement.
Harry also bemoaned the fact that, following their meeting with the Queen at Sandringham during which William had yelled at him, a statement was made to the media on their behalf without his consent.
In the programme, a lawyer claimed that the royal family had given the media false information about Meghan to further their own objectives.
The US-based royal couple is making accusations against the royal family through their documentary, recent media appearances, and Harry’s impending book. The Palace has now found itself in the same predicament that Meghan and Harry once found themselves in.
Whatever the truth, Prince William and Kate Middleton won’t be able to use the media to address the accusations against them like Harry and Meghan because of the restrictions that once prevented the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from offering their perspective when his Charles, William, and Kate were in charge.
