- Broadway actress Courtney Reed has found true love.
- It’s all because to the chain of events that brought her back to her childhood sweetheart.
- The 38-year-old Aladdin actress shared a heartfelt video on Instagram recalling her “happiest year”.
The film ended on a romantic note with Pflederer popping the question to Courtney Reed atop the Seattle Space Needle. As he lowers himself to one knee, the Moulin Rouge! star can be seen sobbing uncontrollably.
A few of Reed’s Moulin Rouge! cast members can be seen giddily leaping up and down with her as she celebrates with her new fiance in other video recordings. The actress captioned the video, “2023…you’ve got some huge shoes to fill.”
But there’s more to the couple’s story than first meets the eye; a montage of film clips at the beginning of the video reveals that they had actually dated briefly while in college in 2006.
Reed tells that despite the fact that they were enrolled in different universities at the time (Pflederer attended Columbia College and Reed the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University), she was immediately drawn to him.
We utilised the same gym, according to Reed. “He reminds me of Tom Welling, I thought when I saw him enter the building. He’ll be my boyfriend, I swear. At the time, I had a Smallville obsession.”
They dated for four months in college before breaking up, and it took the pandemic and 14 years later for them to be lured back together.

When COVID struck, she relocated back to Chicago, and the two of them eventually got together for a hangout as friends, she says. “We didn’t expect our brief meeting to turn out this way,”
In August 2020, they reignited their romance since they still had chemistry. Pflederer, who plays Satine in the Moulin Rouge national tour, has even joined Reed for life on the road! .
Pflederer is a significant figure on Reed’s Instagram, where she frequently shares pictures of their joint trips. She posted a video of some of their amusing antics to social media in August with the message, “1 more sleep until my terrible romance is back to me.”
She had also posted a photo and video carousel in honor of Pflederer’s birthday a few months previously, along with some kind comments for him.
“I love you, BB. me and my best friend, “She composed. “Not just because you were born on this day, but because it is the best day ever. The reason it’s the finest is that it signifies the day when you stop being a year younger than me.”
Added she, “I cherish you. Today and every day after that, I can’t wait to celebrate you.”
