West Cowick woman charges in her spouse’s murder

  • Teresa Hanson, 53, appeared in court charged with her husband’s murder.
  • Paul Hanson, 54, was found with a stab wound on the 28th of December.
  • Mrs. Hanson didn’t plead and was remanded in detention.

An initial court appearance has been made by a woman from West Cowick who is charged with the murder of her spouse.

On the 28th of December, Paul Hanson, 54, was found with a stab wound at a residence on Little London Road in West Cowick, near Snaith. He was taken to the hospital, where he later passed away.

Teresa Hanson, who is 53 years old and lives in West Cowick, was brought before the Hull Magistrates’ Court on the charge of her husband’s murder.

Due to the fact that Mrs. Hanson did not make a plea, she was remanded in custody until her appearance before the Hull Crown Court on Tuesday.

The only thing the defendant, who was wearing a grey tracksuit, said was that she wanted to confirm her residence and her birth date.

During the time that she was standing in the dock, members of her family could be heard crying in the public gallery.

The presiding magistrate stated that the case was so serious that it could only be heard in the Crown Court since it was a “difficult scenario for everybody affected.” In other words, the case was tough for everyone involved.
