Alia Bhatt portrayal in Gangubai Kathiawadi has received appreciation from actress Sophia Di Martino, who is most known for her role as Sylvie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Loki actor praised Alia in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie on Instagram Stories.

Sophia posted the official movie poster for Gangubai Kathiawadi to her Instagram Stories along with the following comment: “Woahhh. What a turn (white heart emoji) @aliabhatt is going to take over the world in about a minute and a half #GangubaiKathiawadi.” Alia uploaded a snapshot of Sophia’s Instagram story shortly after to express her gratitude for the kind gesture and added, “This means so much from someone who is about to takeover a whole multiverse (grinning emoji).” On her Instagram, Sophia later reposted the same story and said, “Casual Fan Girling over here.”

Alia played the lead role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, which also featured Ajay Devgn, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, and Seema Pahwa in the supporting characters. One of the few Bollywood movies to pass the $100 billion mark this year is this one. It centres on a girl who is sold into prostitution by a suitor and how she later rises to prominence in Mumbai’s Kamathipura, or red-light district.

Sanjay spoke at a unique BAFTA Masterclass last month to kick off the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) promotion for the movie. The event, which had a packed audience, was hosted by British novelist and former SOAS, University of London professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema, Rachel Dwyer. The top fashion and art school in the world has invited him to speak as the first Indian artist ever. Additionally, on November 30, he went to see Gangubai Kathiawadi at The Prince Charles.

Alongside Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, Alia will next be featured in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The movie will be shown in theatres beginning on April 28, 2023. In addition, Alia has the Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra-starrer Jee Le Zara from director Farhan Akhtar. She also has Heart of Stone, her first Hollywood film, in addition to this. Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot are also featured in the Netflix movie.
