Prince Harry 2023

Here are eleven people, including Prince Harry, likely to be in headlines in 2023

  • The IMF Kristalina Georgieva will try to stop a new global debt crisis.
  • Prince Harry says his brother William is angry about his plans to leave The Firm.
  • In 2022, the tennis star from Tunisia will try to win her first Grand Slam title.

From Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to Tunisian tennis prodigy Ons Jabeur and Britain’s Prince Harry, these are eleven persons who will create headlines in 2023.

Ron DeSantis

Will popular Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who used to work for Donald Trump, turn against his former boss and run against him for the Republican nomination for president?

Trump is already getting ready for a possible fight with one of his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) followers, whose popularity among Republicans has risen.

In the midterm elections in November, when Trump supporters did badly, DeSantis was re-elected by a huge margin. The property mogul came up with the name “Ron de Sanctimonious” for the self-styled “anti-woke warrior.”

Kristalina Georgieva

In 2023, it will be up to the 69-year-old head of the International Monetary Fund to try to stop a new global debt crisis caused by rising inflation and interest rates.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February, which drove up the prices of food and energy around the world, the Washington-based fund has helped 16 countries with about $90 billion. Her advice to countries that might need help is to act quickly.

Harry, Prince

As Prince Harry gets ready to release his much-anticipated memoir “Spare,” the royal family of Britain is getting ready for more information that could hurt them.

In the book, which comes out on January 10, Harry says he will tell the truth about life inside The Firm.

In what may have been a sneak peek, he said that his brother William was angry about his plans to leave the royal family. However, in a Netflix docuseries that came out in December, he said he didn’t have many regrets about leaving.

The 38-year-old self-exiled royal and his wife Meghan are already controversial in Britain because of their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, in which they said that senior royals they didn’t name were racist.

Bob Iger

The longtime CEO of Disney has been brought out of retirement to try to help the struggling entertainment company, which is running out of money as it tries to get people to sign up for Disney+.

But it will be hard for the 71-year-old to get Disney back to where it was from 2005 to 2020.

He will also have to figure out what to do about Ron DeSantis and Disney’s fight. The governor of Florida took away Disney World in Orlando’s right to run itself.

Ons Jabeur

In 2022, the tennis star from Tunisia became the first Arab woman to reach the final of Wimbledon. In 2023, she will try to win her first Grand Slam title.

The 28-year-old world number two is known as the “Minister of Happiness” in her home country because of her positive attitude and many wins. She has already won three WTA titles.

Sydney McLaughlin

US hurdler Sydney McLaughlin broke her own world record in 2022 after winning two gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics the year before (400m hurdles and 4x400m hurdle relay). This has brought a lot of attention to a sport that isn’t as popular as it could be.

The 23-year-old woman, who was chosen as the World Athlete of the Year for 2022, has hinted that she might switch to the 400m flat.

In August, when the world athletics championships are held in Budapest, she will be one of the most watched athletes.

Peter Obi

In Nigeria’s presidential election in February, former governor Peter Obi, who is 61 years old, is the person to keep an eye on.

He has gotten young people to vote for him by running as an alternative to the two parties that have been in power since 1999, when military rule ended.

The Labour Party candidate is promising a “new Nigeria.” He has put together a small army of young urbanites who call themselves “Obi-dients” and point to the fact that he managed Anambra state’s finances well for eight years as proof that he can be a good leader.

Margot Robbie

When the first photos of Margot Robbie, 32, and Ryan Gosling as the famous dolls Barbie and Ken in Greta Gerwig’s movie about the Mattel toys came out in June, they almost broke the internet.

The feminist movie “Barbie” by Gerwig is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023, along with “Babylon” by Damien Chazelle.

In the latter, “I, Tonya” star Robbie plays an anti-Barbie who is crazy and high on drugs. The story is about how wild Hollywood was in the 1920s.

Victor Wembanyama

The NBA has started streaming Victor Wembanyama’s games with French club Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 because so many people are excited about the 18-year-old basketball star from France, who is expected to be the first pick in next year’s draught.

LeBron James, a four-time NBA champion, is a fan of the 2.2-meter-tall (7.2-foot-tall) Frenchman. He says he has a “generational talent” that is almost “alien.”
