With Kai Po Che, both Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh Rajput made their film debuts, and Amit recalled how they shot the film for a year and a half and became friends with the late actor. In response to the actor’s suicide in 2020, Amit said, “I know the psyche of that person. When someone dies by suicide it means that there is complete darkness in their life. When this happens, it is not the person’s fault, but it is the society’s fault. The people who were around that person are the ones who are at fault, because the person has become so hopeless at that point that he does not care about anything else… I have felt in the same way before too when it seems that there is no one that they have nothing,” stated the actor in a recent podcast interview with writer Chetan Bhagat.

Amit also confessed in the same interview that he had had suicide thoughts in the past, but that everything is OK today. When Chetan Bhagat asked Amit why he wanted to leave the industry, he replied,“Chid gaya tha maine. Bada tough hai yeh industry (I was feeling annoyed. This industry is very tough).” Sushant Singh Rajput died in Mumbai in June 2020. The CBI is still investigating Sushant’s death, which has been ruled a suicide. However, the agency has yet to file a closure report in the matter.
