British Airways apologizes after US flight are grounded

  • Flights are grounded for several hours.
  • Airline is looking into a technical problem.
  • Travelers are using twitter to update about flight timings.

Following the several-hour grounding of flights scheduled to leave the US, British Airways issued an apology.

The airline reported that it was urgently looking into a technical problem with its outside provider of flight planning.

Airport wait times have been reported to be hours long by BA travellers.

The airline apologised for any delays to its customers’ plans and stated that it sought to get planes taking off as quickly as possible.

Twitter is being used by travellers to report waiting times of over three hours at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Others claimed they had spent hours sitting on parked aeroplanes on runways before being transported back to the airport.

British Airways issued a statement saying: “We are urgently investigating a technical issue with our third-party flight planning supplier that is presently causing our aircraft scheduled to leave the USA tonight to be delayed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may bring to our customers’ plans, but we want these planes to leave as soon as possible.
