Canada: Five people got killed in shooting in Toronto says police

  • Five individuals were killed in a shooting at a condo in a Toronto suburb.
  • Victims’ identities have not been made public.
  • Police withheld the motive of the shooter.

Police reported that five individuals were killed in a shooting at a condo in a Toronto suburb on Sunday night.

According to York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween, at around 7:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the building in Vaughan, a city located just north of Toronto, for an active shooting report.

According to MacSween, police discovered a “horrendous scene where many victims were deceased.” He stated that a shot victim who is still alive was transferred to a hospital where they are likely to survive.

In order for the displaced inhabitants to go back to their houses, an emergency response squad is working to clear the building.

“What we’re attempting to do is ensure that the people who reside in this building may return as quickly as possible. Given the size of the building, MacSween predicted that it would take some time.

According to him, the victims’ identities have not been made public since police are currently informing their families.

Police withheld the motive of the shooter and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The event, according to police officer Laura Nicolle, was the “most awful call I’ve witnessed in my whole career,” she told sources.

In a previous news conference, Nicolle stated that it appeared the casualties came from multiple apartment units.
