Kajol‘s flick Salaam Venky is upcoming. She’ll play a mother to a boy with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She recently appeared at Agenda AajTak 2022 to promote the film. At the event, the actress was asked about her male colleagues’ roles compared to her own, and she gave a quick answer.

Kajol discusses actors different roles
Shah Rukh Khan, who has spent almost as long in the industry as Kajol, was used as an example. Both have appeared in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Both play different roles in the industry. In Salaam Venky, she plays a mother to a 24-year-old son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, yet SRK romances young girls. The actress quietly noted how male stars help the film business thrive. Kajol remarked that the heroes of our entertainment sector know they are in this field for a reason.

Kajol also said male performers must work hard.  “Whatever you do at the end of the business, every hero has to pull in that much to make that film a hit. It’s a huge responsibility on their heads. Somebody asked me this question: You have grown as an actor and your contemporaries have not grown as diverse as the roles that you have done. I think that really has to do with the fact that they are also stuck down the line because of the number game. They are shouldering that responsibility.”
