Latest: National Day fireworks are spectacular
Al Maryah Island
Friday and Saturday nights at 9pm, Al Maryah Island’s promenade hosts a fireworks display with the four UAE flag colors.
The event is available to the public, but the 5.4km seaside promenade also has cafes and restaurants, including Bentley Kitchen, Loca, Nusr-et, 99 Sushi, and Almayass.
Awthba
The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba plans fireworks, drone and laser shows, and an Emirates Fountain extravaganza.
Friday and Saturday’s schedule runs from 4pm to 1am and combines cultural and entertainment events, such as folkloric and military acts and the Global Civilization Parade.
This year’s four-month Sheikh Zayed Festival honors local cultures and showcases UAE heritage under the theme Hayakum.
Al Sharq Mall
The mall in Baniyas, Abu Dhabi, promises its “largest fireworks extravaganza ever.” Friday’s 9pm fire and light performance will include the UAE flag’s colors to celebrate National Day. bawabatalsharqmall.ae has details.
Palace Emirates
Monday began the hotel’s National Day celebrations. On Friday evening between 9pm and 9.30pm, there will be fireworks on the hotel’s coastline.
The Grand Dome will host themed activities, a falconer, and a dates exhibition. From 3 to 6 p.m., traditional Al Ayala dances will be performed.
Picnic-goers in the Palace Gardens can see the National Day air show, while the Palace terrace will host a live Khaleeji music on Thursday and Saturday.
Yas
Yas Island’s theme parks and hotels will host events from Thursday to Saturday, including a fireworks display at 9pm on Friday.
Al Ayala dancers will also perform in Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, Clymb, and Yas Waterworld, which will also feature oud players, rabab players, falcon handlers, henna artists, and face painters.
Asef
The Creek-side facility has classic architecture, year-round live events, and welcoming hospitality. National Day festivities include a 7pm-9pm procession and 8pm-10pm seaside fireworks.
Other activities will continue until Al Harbia and Ayala troupes, a majlis with Arabic coffee and dates, henna and falconry artists, a stage play, and children’s arts and crafts classes will perform till Sunday.
Bayfest
Dubai Festival City Mall’s beachfront addition will have a 4.5-minute fireworks show Friday night. The 3,000 fireworks will be timed to the mall’s Imagine laser and fountain show, creating a sensory experience of light, water, fire, and music.
Coastal
Friday fireworks will be at JBR Beach. These may be experienced from The Beach (PF Chang’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Bosporus) and Blue waters Island, which is accessible through a footbridge (The London Project, The Selfish Bull, Shi et al). The bridge itself is a great vantage point.
Bluewaters
Bluewaters Island will have its own display Friday at 8pm. The island will have themed entertainment from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, featuring Ayala, Al Harbia, and Lewa troupes dancing to Emirati folk tunes, henna artists, and falconry stations.
