The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 40, joined other royal family members Saturday at Royal Albert Hall in London for the Festival of Remembrance.
King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra also attended.

The poppy emblem may have derived from John McCrae’s poem “In Flanders Fields,” which reads:
In Flanders, poppies blossom between rows of crosses that commemorate our location, while larks sing boldly above the cannons.

Kate experienced a beautiful moment with Akeem, 3, at Colham Manor Children’s Centre this week. The Princess of Wales handed Akeem her poppy pin when he expressed interest, explaining why she was wearing it.

On Sunday, royal family members will attend the National Service of Remembrance at The Cenotaph in London.
First Remembrance Sunday after Queen Elizabeth’s death and King Charles’ accession. According to National Records of Scotland, the mediaeval Queen died of old age on Sept. 8.
