Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Sunday, sharing the movie’s box office haul: “#PhoneBhoot sees rise on Day 2 [+34.15%]… For a respectable weekend total, Day 3 needs to be given an extra push. The #INDvZIM cricket match, nevertheless, might have an impact on business. Sat 2.75 cr, Friday 2.05 cr. 4.80 crore in total, #India business.
The film was released, Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili, Sonakshi Sinha’s Double XL, and both of those movies underperformed Katrina’s movie. In Phone Bhoot, Katrina plays a ghost who approaches Siddhant and Ishaan Khatter, two inexperienced ghostbusters, with a business proposition. They then defeat Jackie Shroff’s portrayal of an equally entertaining opponent.
The review of the money is “occasionally enjoyable”. “Phone Bhoot is a promising film. It is a smartly written but not quite so well-executed effort that has its pros and several cons as well. It is a decent addition to the growing horror comedy genre in Bollywood. It’s not quite Stree in terms of hilarity and innovation but it’s not as bad as Roohi either.”
