PAK vs NED: In the second one-day international, which took place on Thursday in Rotterdam, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz each took three wickets. This meant that the Netherlands were only able to score 186 runs.
Bas de Leede (89) and Tom Cooper (66) hit hard-fought half-centuries to help the Dutch come back from being down 8-3, but only one other batsman for the hosts hit double digits.
In the second over, Naseem Shah got rid of Vikramjit Singh when the young opener edged behind. Max O’Dowd was next to go when he hit Rauf straight to captain Babar Azam at mid-off.
Wesley Barresi, who was 38 years old, was bowled out for three by Naseem, just two days after scoring two runs in his first international game since 2019.
De Leede and Cooper worked to get things back in order by putting 109 runs between the fourth and fifth wickets.
Cooper hit seven fours and two sixes before giving left-arm spinner Nawaz an easy return catch and getting out for 66.
His dismissal led to the loss of three wickets in a short amount of time. Captain Scott Edwards was caught behind by Nawaz for five, and Teja Nidamanuru was caught behind by Rauf without scoring.
Shadab Khan got his first wicket when Logan van Beek holed out to Naseem on the long-off boundary for 13.
Tim Pringle got a second straight duck after Mohammad Wasim pinned his leg, and Nawaz got his third victim when he got one past Aryan Dutt’s defence.
The last person out was De Leede, who had 89 runs. He was caught by Fakhar Zaman as he tried to get past long-on. Rauf finished with 3-16, and the Dutch innings was over in 44.1 overs.
The first game was won by Pakistan by 16 runs. The last episode of the series will be on Sunday at the same place.
