Shanghai Health Commission deputy head Zhao Dandan claimed close contact with a 6-year-old boy who tested positive after returning from Tibet visiting Ikea. When the close encounter at the store is unknown. Those at the store and surrounding regions must quarantine for two days and be monitored for five days.
This year, Shanghai had a two-month lockdown. Since then, the city of 20 million has ordered flash lockdowns of locations where positive cases or close contacts have been found. BBC said that many were shut up in hot pot restaurants, gyms, and offices.
Ikea’s customer service reported the store was closed due to Covid. The Swedish furniture retailer’s flagship Xuhui showroom debuted in 1998. It has 35 stores nationwide.
