• The Big Olaf Creamery, based in Sarasota, is recalling all of its flavors and all lots of its products.
• 23 people are now sick from a listeria outbreak.

According to a corporate notification published on the FDA website on Wednesday; a Florida-based ice cream firm is recalling its goods because they may be connected to a recent listeria epidemic.

The Sarasota-based Big Olaf Creamery is recalling all of its flavours and all of its product lines. The notification from the firm states that all items with an expiration date of June 30; or after are included in the recall.

The corporate statement stated that Big Olaf “may be a possible cause of sickness in an ongoing Listeria monocytogenes outbreak; based on epidemiological information supplied by the CDC and State Officials.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); a listeria epidemic has sickened 23 people, with symptoms; including a high fever, nausea, stiffness, and severe headaches. However, it can result in stillbirths and miscarriages in women who are pregnant.

According to the company announcement, ten people either consumed ice cream at a location; that might have sold Big Olaf Creamery ice cream products or were a Big Olaf Creamery ice cream brand; and are among the eighteen people who are in involvement of the outbreak who had eaten ice cream; before he got ill.

The corporate release also said that neither the ice cream manufacturer nor those who supplied it; had ever received concerns concerning a potential illness.

A single location in Ohio and a majority of the ice cream’s merchants, restaurants; and senior living facilities were in Florida.
