Charles said he “would not repeat” his charitable monetary donation

  • Cash donation accepted by Prince Charles for his charity would not happen now, a royal source says.
  • Cash was from former Qatari prime minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim.
  • Charity Commission considering whether to review the donation.

According to a royal insider, the Prince of Wales would no longer receive; the financial contribution for his charity. The insider responded to accusations that Prince Charles had collected almost £2.5 million; in cash in a suitcase and carrier bags by saying, “That was then, this is now.” The top royal source stated that the money was “immediately handed to his charity; and it was his charity who decided to take the money.” Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim, a former Qatari prime minister, provided the funds. Earlier this week, the Charity Commission stated that it was still debating; whether or not it needed to evaluate the donation.

The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Fund received the gifts; between 2011 and 2015 in three payments; according to The Sunday Times.

Questions had been raised regarding the use of bank notes; for such significant payments; but the senior royal source insisted that all appropriate auditing procedures; had been followed.

Situations and situations alter with time; according to the royal source. “I can state with clarity that this has not occurred in more than five years; and it would not occur again.”

According to what is known, the money was transferred to Coutts Bank; for the Prince of Wales Charitable Fund; which then decided whether or not to accept it.

This reaction echoes that of Sir Ian Cheshire, chair of the charity; who had previously told that collecting so much cash did not appear good on the surface; but that wealthy individuals in the Middle East; frequently used significant sums of cash at the time.
