The city’s LGBTQ community had scheduled a memorial event; for the assault victims on Monday outside Oslo Town Hall; which the police had initially allowed. After the incident on Saturday; which resulted in two fatalities and 21 injuries; Norway elevated its assessment of the threat posed by terrorism; to its maximum level.
Police also called for the cancellation of Pride celebrations across the country; citing unnamed information from Norway’s PST police; intelligence department.
