Today, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s comments on his uprising in 2020 that nearly brought down the state government were dismissed by Congress’ Sachin Pilot. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a Union minister for the BJP, was the target of Mr. Gehlot’s criticism most often because of his purported attempts to topple the government, but Mr. Pilot’s name was also mentioned.
According to Mr. Gehlot, during the Congress MLA uprising, Sachin Pilot was “hand-in-glove” with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
When questioned today about the situation, Mr. Pilot claimed he had not been offended.
Ashok Gehlot has previously called me “Nakara” and “Nikamma” (useless, lazy), Mr. Pilot stated to reporters in Tonk, Rajasthan, where he had travelled to take part in a protest against the Agnipath program of the Centre. “I don’t take offence because he (Ashok Gehlot) is an experienced, senior, and father figure. Speaking on Saturday about a court summons sent to Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a case involving charges of horse-trading, Mr. Gehlot said “You participated in a plot to overthrow the government. Since you are using Sachin Pilot’s name to further demonstrate that he was mistaken, you have established that you worked closely with him.”

Earlier, Mr. Pilot downplayed the situation by claiming that Rahul Gandhi just commended his patience.
“Rahul Gandhi recently applauded my patience while speaking at an event in Delhi. No one should be unnecessarily upset by Asok Gehlot’s statement, in my opinion, and should instead interpret it in the correct spirit if a leader like Rahul is admiring my level of patience “According to Mr. Pilot.
Mr. Pilot, who is credited with being the driving force behind the party’s comeback in Rajasthan after the BJP ruled the state for five years, ran for chief minister after the party won the 2018 assembly elections. However, Rahul Gandhi convinced him to accept the position of Ashok Gehlot’s assistant. Since then, he has developed tension with Mr. Gehlot, which Mr. Pilot has downplayed.
When Mr. Pilot rebelled in 2020 and camped out in Delhi with 18 allies who insisted on a larger position for him in the administration, everything came to a climax. After discussions with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over a period of more than a month, the heated standoff was finally settled.
