Biden ratifies the bipartisan gun legislation. The largest piece of gun legislation to pass Capitol Hill in thirty years was formally passed on Saturday; when President Joe Biden signed the bipartisan gun package into law. The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act does not include any type of firearm ban; but it does provide $750 million for crisis intervention programmes; such as red flag programmes and mental health courts, and it closes the “boyfriend loophole” in domestic violence law; making it so that partners who are not married, do not have children together; or do not live together but are still intimately involved with a person could be prohibited from owning a gun; if found guilty of domestic violence.
