The petition for both a name change and a new birth certificate reflecting her new gender identity was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica in April.
On Wednesday, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge granted her request to change her surname to Musk. Wilson, her mother’s maiden name, is now her surname.

Vivian Jenna Wilson, formerly Xavier Musk, stated in documents that she does not want to be linked with her millionaire father.
“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she wrote, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Vivian is one of Elon Musk’s five children with ex-wife Justine Wilson. The pair married in 2000 and divorced in 2008.

This follows Musk’s recent use of Twitter to convey a heartfelt greeting on Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day,” the billionaire wrote, adding in a separate message, “I love all my kids so much.”
