Prince William Marks Father’s Day by Sharing New Photo

  • The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a photo to mark Father’s Day.
  • William is seen with Princess Charlotte and Prince George riding on his shoulders.
  • Kate spent two years in Jordan when her father worked for British Airways.

Prince William appears to be having a blast in a newly-released photograph released by Kensington Palace on Saturday to mark Father’s Day.

The Duke of Cambridge is seen with Princess Charlotte and Prince George on either side of him, as his youngest child from his marriage to Kate Middleton rides on his shoulders.

In this photo from their trip to Jordan last fall, William and his children, including Prince Louis, can be seen laughing.

They wrote on their official Instagram account, “Happy Father’s Day to fathers and grandfathers across the world today!”

On June 21, Prince William will celebrate his 40th birthday. On Father’s Day last year, he celebrated his 39th birthday.

The Cambridges issued a black-and-white photo in 2020 to honour William’s role as a dedicated father, but this year’s photo may look familiar because the family chose another photograph from the Middle Eastern country for their holiday card.

The Duchess of Cambridge appeared in that image. “Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card 🎄,” the couple wrote on Instagram alongside the photo in December.

The next photograph of the British royals to be presented to the public has a different backdrop, but it looks to have been taken on the same day because the princess and princess are dressed identically.

Jordan holds a special place in the hearts of the family, particularly Kate. Kate spent two years in Jordan when his father worked with British Airways. William went on a royal tour of the country in 2018 before the family vacation last year.

They also paid respect to the late Prince Philip, Prince Charles’ father, last year. Images of Prince William and his brother Prince Harry with their father in Balmoral when they were little were shared on social media in a movie. It also featured a photo of the Queen and Prince Philip with their grandchildren, as well as Kate being escorted down the aisle by her father at her 2011 wedding.

“Wishing fathers everywhere a happy Father’s Day,” the Instagram post caption read.
