Russian President Vladimir Putin claims the West is attempting to smash Russia; with “stupid sanctions” that amount to an economic “blitzkrieg” at the St.
Petersburg Economic Forum. Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused the West of colonial hubris; and of attempting to smash his country with “stupid” penalties that amounted to a “blitzkrieg” of economic restrictions.
On Friday, Putin promised Russia’s political and business elite that he will continue his war on Ukraine, while speaking at the SPIEF.

“We are resilient individuals who can face any hardship.”
“Like our forefathers, we will solve any difficulty; our country’s thousand-year history proves it,” he remarked.
When Putin repeated his commitment to continue the “special military operation” in Ukraine that has unleashed a “unprecedented” bombardment of Western economic sanctions, the audience erupted in applause.
