Rachel Bilson opened up about her relationship with Bill Hader on her podcast.
The couple dated for two years before calling it quits in 2020.
They met on the set of Hader’s now-ex-wife Maggie Carey’s film The To Do List.

Rachel Bilson is finally opening up about her “harder than childbirth” split from Bill Hader, Two years after their breakup.

During an episode of her podcast, Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson, on June 13, The OC alum made a rare comment regarding her prior affair with the Saturday Night Live star.

Bilson said that she dated Hader “two years ago” while sitting down with Aubrey Plaza to discuss their 2013 filmThe To Do List. Despite the fact that the couple had gone public with their romance in 2020, Plaza had no idea the two had ever been together.

“You know Bill and I dated, right?” she told Plaza.

“What? Are you serious?” the Parks and Recreation alum asked. “I don’t know sh*t. I don’t know anything.”

“I went with him to the f**king Golden Globes,” Bilson replied.

Bilson and Hader originally met on the set of Hader’s now-ex-wife Maggie Carey’s film The To Do List, which she wrote and directed. The two were photographed grabbing coffee in Hader’s hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma in December 2019, one month before their red carpet debut at the 2020 Golden Globes. However, the couple only lasted a few months before calling it quits in July 2020.

The Hart of Dixie actress told Mandy Moore earlier this month about going through a “really hard” breakup during the pandemic, although she didn’t mention Hader by name.

“I went through a really hard breakup and it was during the pandemic and I could not leave my house,” she said during the Broad Ideas podcast. “I had nothing else to do but sit in it and deal with it and feel it. It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, harder than childbirth.”

Bilson – who shares seven-year-old daughter Briar Rose with ex Hayden Christiansen – went on to say that although the breakup “hurt like a motherf***er”, the experience left her feeling stronger.

“If you actually face it, you can come out of it and be like, ‘Okay, yeah. I did that and I’m ready for the next thing,” she added.

Bilson, 40, dated Adam Brody, her co-star on The OC, before falling in love with Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen. They met on the set of Jumper in 2007 and were engaged the following year. Despite calling off their engagement in 2010, the pair reunited a few months later and had their baby in November 2014. Bilson and Christensen divorced for the second time in 2017.

Hader, 44, has three kids with ex-wife Maggie Carey: Hannah, 12, Harper, nine, and Hayley, seven. For more than a year, the Inside Out actor has apparently been dating Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick.
