PM visits Rashakai SEZ, encourages Pak-China cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that cooperation between China and Pakistan would be beneficial for both countries. The PM was addressing the media during his visit to Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) today (Wednesday), reported BOL News.

During the visit, the premier was briefed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation about the construction of Rashakai SEZ.

The PM showed determination to complete the project of Rashakai SEZ within the planned time frame and urged the management to discuss the issues in this regard.

The managing directors of NTDCL and the SNGPL also briefed the prime minister about the provision of gas and electricity to the economic zone.

Notably, the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), was inaugurated by the former prime minister Imran Khan last year.

It has been the first industrial cooperation project under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Earlier, PM Shehbaz held a Federal Cabinet meeting yesterday (Tuesday) to review the overall political and economic situation of the country.

The decisions of the Cabinet Economic Liaison Committee and reports of the Legislative Committee were ratified by PM Shehbaz. PM said that he is not in favour of raising prices but it is a compulsion.
